About

by Dee Harrison

Hi, I’m Dee Harrison.

You’ll find me popping up on the Internet in the domains of writing, coaching, business consultancy/support, search engine optimisation and web based marketing. Around the web I am known as Philoscribe.

This blog is a personal indulgence. Some book reviews, if I think the book is worth reviewing. Some murmurz, these being musings and commentaries prompted by events in my life. Self indulgence probably best describes my activities here!

I work as a freelance writer for a few treasured clients who have always been a joy to serve and whose projects are interesting. I occasionally consider undertaking assignments for new clients but am generally fully booked.

My current challenge is to recover my willingness/ability/interest in writing for myself. Projects call to me from the drawers and files into which they were stuffed and abandoned. It’s time to take my personal writing more seriously; to give it a higher priority.

Writing posts for Murmurz is my therapy :-) It’s my way of self treating the inner critic who induces paralysis in my right arm whenever I pick up a pen.

It would be great if anything here spoke to you and you felt drawn to join the discussion. Anything from a ‘me too’ to ‘pull yourself together’ is fine.

Your comments would be welcome on the book reviews too. Much better to share views than to have one person autocratically giving her opinion.

One thing I want you to know. There are a few ads on the site. They are obvious. If you click on any of those and make a purchase there is a possibility that I will be remunerated in some way. It won’t cost you any more or less whether or not I am paid. I just want you to know that if something is advertised on my site it’s because I use it, love it and think it is worth recommending.

On the book review pages I will often insert a link to the relevant Amazon or Book Depository page. Sometimes there are two links – one to the .com site and another to the .co.uk site. If you buy whatever is being reviewed I may well receive a miniscule commission. I have to say that I am not convinced the system works particularly well, but I want to open with you. I choose to use book review commissions to fund my Kiva account.

I hope you will participate on the blog and I look forward to getting to know you.
