Eat, Pray, Love

Yesterday was a day of glorious, unashamed inactivity.

A book that had been recommended to me was delivered from Amazon and as I tore off the brown cardboard wrapping all thoughts of work left my mind.

It was a chilly, grey day so armed with hot tea and warm blankets I curled up in a chair and began to read.

Moving only for more tea and pitstops, I read through the day and into the night.

The book? Eat, Pray, Love by Elizabeth Gilbert charts the progress of this remarkable woman as she recovers from a life crisis. If you are seeking inspiration I heartily recommend this book. It is uplifting and invigorating.

If you just want a good read, this is also the book for you as it is beautifully written with such creative use of the English language I wanted to weep with jealousy and frustration at the author’s penmanship.

I like the new look here — and many thanks for including my blogs in your blogroll.

Speaking of “Eat, Pray, Love”, I have to say that all those who promote this book as a “book for women” need to read it again. This is just as important a read for men as it is for women. This book is a “must read” for everyone, regardless of gender.

One of my favorite quotes from “Eat, Pray, Love” is:

“You gotta let go, sit still and allow contentment to come to you!”

If you haven’t read it — well, go get it and read it!

In Peace ….

You are right Ron and I stand abashed!

I am projecting my own world on to the contents of the book and I apologise.

My request to the universe is that I encounter more of the male of the species who would be willing to read such a book and be open to the contents :-)
